The Public Works Department is currently staffed with three full-time positions. The Village of Chama’s Public Works Department provides maintenance of village streets, parks, drainage along public right-of-ways, signage, maintenance of municipal buildings, upkeep of the landscaping of public grounds, maintenance of Village water/sewer lines, water/wastewater treatment plants, and water tanks.
Members of the crew can often be seen on the road grader, backhoe, or skid steer, they can be found cleaning up debris from roadsides, snow removal, and replacing street signs. They work in all kinds of weather and are always there to fix anything that has gone awry. Give them a wave if you see them.
